ABIGO Medical AB is a Swedish pharmaceutical company, a so-called speciality pharma company.
The company was set up in 1989 by the current owners, the brothers Jan G Smith and Leif Smith, both of whom are still actively involved in ABIGO.

This results in flexibility and short decision-making processes, with the potential for good long-term expansion. An active research and development programme in selected areas opens up exciting opportunities for growth and has also led to a number of international patents and patent applications. Unique, patented products developed in house, with international potential in niche areas, are part of ABIGO’s business philosophy.

The company has an international orientation with products in some 30 countries and an extensive international network of contacts. We are, for example, the Nordic partner in the European pharmaceutical alliance, the RX-Alliance.
Over the next few years, ABIGO will be introducing a number of interesting products which are being developed in house and for which patents have been applied. It is felt that these products have extremely interesting international growth potential.
ABIGO is certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 and the company naturally also has environmental accreditation in accordance with ISO 14001 granted in 2000.

Our business operations are run in two areas of activity: pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

ABIGO’s pharmaceutical product line comprises more than 20 registered drugs and a number of registration applications have also been submitted for additional preparations developed in house.
One patented development project in which the company has tremendous belief is of particular interest.

Our medical devices product range includes Sorbact ^®, Otovent ^® and Epicat ^®.

Sorbact is a well-known range of advanced wound-healing products with a unique mode of action. The Sorbact method has been well documented in clinical studies. Sorbact is marketed and used in around 30 countries. The extensive product range enables Sorbact to be used for virtually any type of wound. Sorbact is also used to treat fungal infections. This product range is manufactured at our own plant in Askersund. As a result of the growth in sales, we moved in 2008 to a larger and more modern plant, with an area of 2,200 square metres.
