Mezinc is a self-adhesive, occlusive (air- and water-tight), zinc-releasing dressing with a cleansing, anti-bacterial effect. 

Mezinc has two main properties:

• It promotes wound healing.
• It provides protection.

Mezinc creates a moist wound environment and constantly releases zinc onto the surface of the wound, thereby promoting healing. Mezinc also reduces the amount of bacteria in the wound and removes dead tissue, which can obstruct wound healing, from the surface of the wound. 

Mezinc provides protection from mechanical effects and prevents bacteria from the surroundings entering the wound.

Mezinc is used for the treatment of wounds of different kinds, such as leg ulcers, bedsores/decubitus ulcers and burns, as well as small wounds, such as blisters, abrasions, cuts and cracked skin.

Mezinc is an OTC product that is available at pharmacies.
